Mysteries of Women’s attire

Winter is here in & the cold has set in burrrrrr……… & with the wedding & Party circuit in full swing I feel its time to get those warm jackets & cardigans out of mothballs. But I must confess that I am at a total loss when it comes to women’s winter attire …

Recently I went of this fabulous Xmas Pre-party in the open with great crowd & even better alcohol. To my amazement it felt as if all the men were dressed for Siberian winter & the women for tropical summers… everywhere u look Corsets, backless dresses, off-shoulder tops & micro mini skirts. Bone chilling Cold winter and all women in skimpy dresses… by what miracle of heating do u manage to evade the chill?

Is it gallons of Alcohol that r quietly consume when no one is looking?

Is chain smoking back in vogue or just a ruse to keep warm?

Is it the warmth of all those eyes looking at you – men in expectation, women in envy?

Do tell all u Fashion Vistas out there…Just how do u do it?

Hate Mail

It is surprising to see the reaction most people are having post the Mumbai attacks… for the last two weeks I have been getting a spate of emails, sms messages & Facebook group invites condemning the recent attacks & offering a variety of measures the government should take to eradicate terrorism:

  1. Impose Presidential Rule
  2. Call in the Army Permanently to petrol the streets
  3. Track all movement of suspected Citizens
  4. Constitute a independent agency to take action against any suspect (without proof or reprisal)
  5. Abolish the Government – all politicians are our real enemies
  6. Give up the bone of contention – handover of the state of Kashmir to Pakistan

Should the citizens of a country which is based on Gandhi’s ideals, largest Secular Democracy with constitutional protection to all Minorities resort to this kind of banter?

Taking away the peoples right to Freedom, Elect Representatives, Movement, Speech, Religion, etc… is in my thought unthinkable.

I agree with the thought that the present system is not working and is in need of reform but our best bet is a reform on a social responsibility towards self & other sections of society.

Our Loss is nothing compared to the devastation & security lapse faced by the Americans in 9/11. In this time of divided opinions I feel it necessary to seek retrospective…

Measure of Love

It was my Brother’s Anniversary today & being the close knit family we are, I felt best wishes were in order:

Me: “Morning Bro, congrats on surviving another year (in your wedding Prison).”

Bro: “Thanks Brother, but don’t tell her (my sis-in-law) otherwise she might remember it too.”

Me: “What??? Did u not surprise her with a expensive gift early in the morning?”

Bro: “hey it’s my anniversary too; do you think I will get anything?”

Me: “Hey the most you can expect is that she let you sleep in the same room tonight if you behave yourself, but consider the consequences if you mess this up. You will have to suffer the repercussions for the rest of the Decade.”

Bro: “Damn!!! I never knew Love & Happiness was going to be so expensive year after year,”

Why is it Men never learn that it is a fact that the more expensive a gift is shows how much of your life’s hard earned money you committing for her happiness & prestige. The more you spend the more you have committed for her special day.

Regardless I have noticed this that many women want their men to show their affection in different ways; for some the measure is the latest Louis Vittion Handbag, for some Diamonds are their best friends, for some it’s the time a lavish dinner celebration with all family & friends, a vacation to a place she really wanted to visit, to pick a few……

Think about it what is your measure?……
