Daily Horoscope from Hell

Today morning was a shocker!!! Rummaging through My Daily Horoscope I suddenly felt a chill down my spine…. It said…… “A minor issue will be blown out of proportion by Rivals. There will be a crisis at work today but try to stay calm”.

I was like…… Whaaaattttt?

Nevertheless I spent the entire day in Office – putting off important decisions & double checking my work, sure that someone was going to backstab me……

Help!!! I am spending the entire day in Paranoia……

Are you also one of those who religiously look at their daily horoscope in the paper for prediction of the events which will unfold today? Then you go through the day with a mindset to either be cautious of an unseen enemy or waiting for the situation to spiral out of control……

It is even more surprising how specific these daily predications have become:

“Things will not work out for you; take patience in letting the events unfold before taking a decision.”

“Control expenses and invest wisely. Today Financial transactions should be handled with care.”

What I wish for is a more pleasant forecast like…… “Today there is a possibility of the love connection you have been waiting for. Passion can be at an all time High.”……

I know what you are saying. There was a time when I was into all this, but no more. From what I have obseeved, and I may be totally wrong, people who want something specific to happen in their lives, really believe in Horoscope's, et al.They wait for it to say that the shall accomplish what they desired or something of that sort..

You know..I have a journalist friend, who was in jeopardy the other day coz the astrologer who writes a daily column in her paper had not sent them her predictions. So what she did was, she made up the horoscope on her own, just by shifting a couple of lines here and there. And since then, she has been doing this(so much that these people were contemplating asking the concerned astrologer to write weekly; to save money you see).

This didn't make a difference to me though, as I had already stopped believing in all this. And neither do I know if this shall/should/will make a difference to you.

Funny. I've had events match my horescope (but on the good side). I tend to just ignore the "bad" ones. ;o) Also, look the update to my last post about how to participate in my challenge!

LOL..

However "rational" we may think we are, we can't change certain tendencies like checking out daily horoscopes. But guess what, we sure can change our astrologer :D Switch to MSN astrology; Mostly benign stuff, and occasionally something nice but never anything as morose as your newspaper :P

Cheers!!

Oh. OF COURSE HOROSCOPES ARE TRUE!
Look, they easily explain some phenomena. Like, the financial crises could be explained by all the world's cancerians having the "loss predicted" horoscopes. It can also explain sudden population surges in particular year's as maybe the aquarians had a lucky year for finding love.
Horoscopes obviously have to be true since it is easily possible that the couple of billion geminis around the world will have heart attacks on the same day.

I only believe in horoscopes when they tell me exactly what I want to hear! :)

i used to be religiously follow these horoscopes..but they never came out to be true...what used to happen with me was that when they predicted good things..things exact opposite to that came to be true..and when they predicted worse i had good times..reaon for that might be..when thye predicted well i used to become carefree and used to take things lightly..and exactly the opposite when it predicted worse for me...so at the end i realised that my destiny lies in my hand..i have to make it or mar it..so now i read my daily horoscopes as joke of the day....

Newspaper horoscopes are statistically impossible.

Do the math. It helps ;)
